Skander Khlif | Tunisia
As a documentary photographer, Skander Khlif can call upon a wealth of different cultures. Born in 1983, he grew up in Tunis and learned about the art of photography during a school project. This experience made him aware of the power that photography has to reveal the beauty in each object. However, he didn’t follow this path immediately, and waited to finish his engineering studies before turning to it once again. Today based in Munich, He is documenting life on public spaces which he sees as a theatre stage where everyone plays their own role, creating scenes on different registers. An intriguing or humorous situation, a moving or romantic moment: Skander Khlif aims to reveal the beauty that surrounds us. Through geometric shapes and colours, he tells a story while retaining a note of mystery. Published and exhibited on several occasions, he was also the recipient of the Photomed-Lensculture Awards 2017.
En tant que photographe documentaire, Skander Khlif fait appel dans son travail à une multitude de cultures différentes. Né en 1983, il grandit à Tunis et s'initie à l'art de la photographie lors d'un projet scolaire. Cette expérience lui fait prendre conscience du pouvoir qu'a la photographie de révéler la beauté de chaque chose. Cependant, il n'a pas suivi cette voie tout de suite et a attendu la fin de ses études d'ingénieur pour s'y tourner à nouveau. Aujourd'hui basé à Munich, il documente la vie des espaces publics qu'il conçoit comme une scène de théâtre où chacun joue son propre rôle, créant des scènes sur différents registres. Une situation intrigante ou humoristique, un moment émouvant ou romantique : Skander Khlif vise à révéler la beauté qui nous entoure. A travers des formes géométriques et des couleurs, il raconte une histoire tout en gardant une note de mystère. Publié et exposé à plusieurs reprises, il a également été lauréat des Prix Photomed-Lensculture 2017.
