In 2002, I went to Japan for the first time and fell in love with it. Back then I only took random snapshots of graffiti with my 3 megapixel Sony, but as the years went by I made more trips and bought better gear, and eventually started getting better as a photographer. The small dirty alleys and the general mood of Japan has always been a big influence for me, especially at night. I have just recently begun to understand the intricacies of colour photography and have been actively trying to implement it in a coherent way in my work. When I'm not taking pictures, I work as an Art Director for a Finnish games magazine called Pelaaja.
En 2002, je suis allé au Japon pour la première fois et j'en suis tombé amoureux. À l'époque, je ne prenais que des instantanés aléatoires de graffitis avec mon Sony 3 mégapixels. Mais au fil des années, j'ai fait plus de voyages et acheté un meilleur équipement pour finalement devenir meilleur en tant que photographe. Les petites ruelles sales et l'ambiance générale du Japon ont toujours été une grande influence pour moi, surtout la nuit. Je viens tout juste de commencer à comprendre les subtilités de la photographie couleur et je cherche activement à la mettre en œuvre de manière cohérente dans mon travail. Quand je ne prends pas de photos, je travaille comme directeur artistique pour un magazine de jeux finlandais appelé Pelaaja.
